- The main difference is the Naturopathic methods try to work with the body´s own healing efforts rather than to use pharmaceutical drugs that often suppress the symptoms and therefore suppress the body´s own healing response.
- A Naturopath treats the whole person, which is a ´holistic´approach, which recognises that the body parts are all connected and therefore should not be treated in isolation
- Naturopathic treatment is always trying to address the underlying causes of the disease, whether it be lack of certain nutrients, stress, etc. Treatments must never cause harm or the appearance of side effects.
- Naturopathy aims not only to be curative but preventative, and tries to encourage patients to adopt a healthier lifestyle. It is an education process whereby the Naturopath works in partnership with the patient.
